March 25, 2008 — Sara Evans was the subject of a very public divorce last year, but now she's found love again and is engaged to marry.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jay Barker is the object of Sara's affection, and the two plan to tie the knot, according to People.com, though no specific wedding date has been announced.

"The couple are enjoying their engagement and look forward to their upcoming nuptials," Sara's RCA spokesperson, Lori Genes, told the website.

Sara, whose divorce from Craig Schelske was finalized in September, began dating Jay prior to Thanksgiving. She appeared during that holiday weekend on his morning sports-talk show, "The Opening Drive," on Birmingham radio station WJOX. She's been a guest on the show several times, and Jay has tagged along on some of her tour dates.

Despite his ties to the University of Alabama, Sara's been tabbed to support SEC rival LSU with an appearance as an opening act for Kid Rock at the Gridiron Bash April 4 in Baton Rouge. The stadium date is tied to the university's spring football game.
