Rodney Atkins Adopted for Hall of Fame Moment

March 25, 2008 - Rodney Atkins has been tapped by the National Council For Adoption to perform April 16 when the agency inducts five new members into the Adoption Hall of Fame during an event at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Va. Rodney, who was adopted as a child, is a perfect entertainment choice, since he's the national spokesperson for the NCFA.

The inductees include Warren and Mary Alice Babineaux, a Louisiana couple that guided more than 100 foster children; Debbie Wybrow and husband Brad Oliver, attorneys who successfully argued for a landmark pro-adoption decision in South Africa; and Sen. Norm Coleman, of Minnesota, who's been an important voice for adoption in Congress.

Rodney's choice of dress is helping set the theme for this year's ceremony. The NCFA is encouraging attendees to wear blue jeans, boots and cowboy hats.
