SOMETHING TO HANG YOUR HAT ON-Education by Ian Hadi
Debbie takes our son, Hogan, to school every morning. About an hour later-upon her return-you can take it to the bank she's got some story about some wild thing she saw some nut do with their child in the car on the way to school. So when I read this today, I knew it had to be done.
In our city, every day I see parents in a hurry to drop their children off at school. If they would leave their homes five minutes earlier, they wouldn't have to rush and break rules or annoy other drivers.
My worst anger is reserved for parents running red lights. They put not only themselves and their children at risk, but also everyone else on the road.
My question is why do the parents take their children to school to get educated when they're instructing their own children, right then and there, to break the law?
Whatever we do has long term consequences; if we can't control ourselves in such basic discipline as obeying the law even if law enforcement isn't present, how do we behave when totally alone?
Don't you think SOMEONE is watching?
And that's something to hang your hat on.

I am jealous of my neighbor. He always has the most amazing lawn. While I was mowing my grass over the weekend, I couldn’t help but stare again in amazement. His yard looks like a putting green on a golf course. It is more like carpet than grass. It’s perfectly manicured. I wouldn’t doubt it if he gets out in his yard in the middle of the night with tweezers to pluck the dead grass blades out. If there ever were a...read more...
It isn't the thing you do, dear,
Its the thing you leave undone
That gives you a bit of a heartache
At setting of the sun.
The tender work forgotten,
The letter you did not write,
The flowers you did not send, dear,
Are your haunting ghosts at night. read more...
